Beef Stir-Fry with Ginger and Garlic

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional garnish: chopped green onions and sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Add the beef slices and toss to coat. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the minced ginger and garlic to the hot oil and stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently until browned and cooked through.
  5. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
  6. In the same skillet, add the bell pepper, onion, and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
  7. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
  9. Serve the beef stir-fry over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.

Tips and Variations:

  • You can add other vegetables of your choice such as snap peas, mushrooms, or carrots.
  • For an extra kick of heat, add some red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha sauce.
  • Feel free to use different cuts of beef such as flank steak or strip steak, thinly sliced against the grain.
