Dried Basil Lemon Chicken (Bonus)

Ingredients:
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges (for serving, optional)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, dried basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet and brush both sides with the lemon-basil mixture.
  4. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for about 18-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
  6. Serve the Dried Basil Lemon Chicken with lemon wedges and fresh parsley for added brightness and garnish.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken in the lemon-basil mixture for 30 minutes before baking.
  • This recipe works well with bone-in chicken thighs or drumsticks too.
