Dried Basil Tomato Pasta

Ingredients:
  • 8 ounces spaghetti or your favorite pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper flakes (optional, for some heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving, optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, and cayenne pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Let the sauce simmer for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until the pasta is coated evenly with the tomato sauce.
  6. Serve the Dried Basil Tomato Pasta hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves, if desired.
Tips:
  • For added protein, you can toss in some cooked and shredded chicken or sautéed shrimp to the pasta.
  • If you prefer a creamier sauce, you can stir in a splash of heavy cream or coconut milk.
