Ingredients: (For 4 People)
- 2 Lbs. of large Potatoes
- 1 cup Swiss or Gruyere Cheese
- 1 liter Heavy cream or Whole Milk
- 4 thin slices of Butter
- 1 tbsp. Granulated Garlic
- 1 tbsp. Ground Nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste

- Preheat the oven to 400°F
- Peel the potatoes and thinly slice them into rounds and place them on the
- In a separate bowl, mix Nutmeg with the cream or milk.
- Pour a bit of the cream into a buttered gratin dish to thinly coat the bottom of the dish.
- Place the first layer of Sprinkle with Granulated Garlic, and coat with cream, salt, pepper, and grated cheese.
- Repeat step 5 until there are no more Place thin slices of butter on top of the dish before baking. Bake for at least an hour. (You will know the dish is done when you can easily glide a knife into the center of the dish)
- Enjoy with meat or a simple green salad.
- To revisit this recipe, you can replace the grated cheese with crumbled goat cheese, blue cheese, or sliced Comté.
