Instructions:

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, barbecue sauce, soy sauce, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and pepper to make a marinade.
  3. Pat dry the halibut steaks with paper towels and place them in a shallow dish.
  4. Pour the marinade over the halibut steaks, ensuring they are evenly coated. Allow them to marinate for about 10 minutes.
  5. Grease the grill grates with some oil to prevent sticking.
  6. Place the marinated halibut steaks on the preheated grill.
  7. Grill the halibut steaks for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and flake easily with a fork. Be careful not to overcook, as halibut can dry out quickly.
  8. While grilling, baste the halibut steaks with any remaining marinade to enhance the flavor and create a glaze.
  9. Once cooked, remove the halibut steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  10. Serve the Grilled Barbecue Halibut Steaks with your choice of sides, such as grilled vegetables or a fresh salad.

Tips:

  • Adjust the grilling time based on the thickness of your halibut steaks. Thicker steaks may require a few extra minutes of cooking.
  • Feel free to customize the marinade by adding your favorite herbs or spices to enhance the flavor.
  • For added smokiness, you can use a smoky barbecue sauce or sprinkle some smoked paprika over the steaks before grilling.
