Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, ground bay leaves, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in the prepared loaf pan.
- Spread the ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
