Basil is native to Southeast Asia. Today, however, this sun-loving herb is grown mainly around the Mediterranean, particularly in France and Italy, as well as in central Europe.

Our tips :

Basil gives dishes a typical Mediterranean note, and is therefore essential, especially in Italian cuisine. There are almost no limits to its use. In addition to cold dishes, such as dips, quark and cheese, basil powder is also very suitable for seasoning hot vegetable, pasta and meat dishes as well as sauces and soups. The aromatic herb underlines the characteristic fruity taste of ripe tomatoes particularly well.
